First Person Surgeons
Surgeons who play video games for at least 3 hours a week are 39% faster, make 47% fewer errors, and improve their overall performance by 41% compared to surgeons who don't play video games. First-person shooters are most effective category of gaming. We decided to teach surgeons how to kill. So more people will live.
UNDESTE, one of Brazil's most innovative medical schools, partnered with eSports legend FalleN to convert the first-person shooter game Counter-Strike 2 into a validated surgical training platform. The course, taught by FalleN, developed life-saving skills needed in the operating room. Currently, 400 surgical students are attending the class, and hospitals are implementing the FPS methodology to develop surgeons' skills using the same protocol.
By becoming better shooters, UNDESTE students learn to become better surgeons.
